Services that we offer…
Traditional herbal medicine can offer a fresh approach to a wide range of conditions and health related problems.
What is Herbal Medicine?
Herbal medicine is the treatment of disease using whole plant extracts to help restore individuals to a state of health. It is estimated that over 80% of the world’s population currently rely on herbs for health purposes.
Modern medicine has its roots in traditional herbal medicine and has developed powerful lifesaving synthetic drugs as a result.
Whenever possible, replying on the inherent power of the body to heal itself is considered the best option in herbal medicine. Therefore, by using the plants’ medical and nutritional potential to support the body’s innate vitality, the herbalist seeks to treat the person and not the disease. Herbs can provide the body with some of the essential nutrients it needs for recovery.
At Carleton Treatment Centre herbal medicine services are provided by qualified practitioner Peter Farrell. The first consultation will last about one hour and is structured to gain an in-depth understanding of your problem. Blood pressure will always be checked, or in the case of musculo-skeletal problems a joint examination may be carried out. Following diagnosis, Peter will work out a management plan with you, to give you the maximum benefit from the treatment.
